Meet Dr. Alicia Manenti
Dr. Alicia Manenti is a Board-Certified optometrist providing full-scope primary eye care for patients of all ages at Lowcountry Eye Care’s North Mount Pleasant location. She offers comprehensive vision services, including contact lens exams and fittings, ocular disease management, and pre- and post-operative surgical co-management.
Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Dr. Manenti recently relocated to the Lowcountry with her family. She and her husband—also an optometrist—previously owned a private practice in Cleveland, Ohio. Both proud Ohio State Buckeyes, they have a son who graduated from OSU and now works as a chemical engineer in Arizona. Their twin daughters attend college in South Carolina—one at the University of South Carolina and the other at Clemson University—making football season especially lively in their household.
Outside of the office, Dr. Manenti enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and walking the beach with her mini goldendoodle, Charlie. She looks forward to becoming active in the Mount Pleasant community and building lasting relationships with her patients.
Educational Background & Experience
Dr. Manenti completed her undergraduate degree in biology and music at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, where she graduated with honors. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry and completed her clinical training at the Columbus VA Hospital.
Her career began as a hospital optometrist at Lutheran Medical Center, followed by several years at the outpatient clinic for University Mednet in Cleveland. She also worked alongside an ophthalmologist in a retinal practice before opening and operating her own primary care clinic for more than twenty years. Through this extensive experience, Dr. Manenti has developed a deep commitment to providing personalized, high-quality vision care and enjoys getting to know her patients and their families.
