Comprehensive Eye Exams

To stay ahead of eye diseases and make sure your prescription is up to date, it’s important to come in regularly for an in-depth eye exam. Our team uses cutting-edge technology that streamlines our testing, making your experience comfortable and easy. Pediatric Eye Exams

Children’s eyes are uniquely vulnerable and we’re experts in protecting them as they grow and change. We’re known for our pediatric eye doctors who know just how to make your child relaxed and engaged as they gently check their eyes with kid-friendly technology. And because it’s never too early to get on top of eye health, we have certified InfantSEE® providers to perform your little one’s first eye exam from 6-12 months old, at no cost to you.

Myopia Management

To help manage myopia (nearsightedness), our doctors analyze your child’s eyes and formulate a care plan to help them see clearly, slow its progression, and prevent it from developing more serious issues in the future. We offer atropine eye drops and several of our providers are certified to fit MiSight™ One Day lenses — both of which are proven to help limit the progression of myopia and reduce eye strain.

Eye Disease Management

If you’re struggling with an eye disease, or maybe you’re not even sure you have one, we can help. Our eye doctors will use their expertise and our advanced diagnostic technology to detect eye conditions, even before they impact your vision. From there, we’ll work with you to ease your symptoms, limit your risk factors, and manage your disease to preserve your sight.

Dry Eye

Our dry eye specialists will use their expertise to pinpoint the cause of your disease and create an individualized treatment plan for you. Based on our analysis, we may recommend our gentle in-office procedure — OptiLight™ — the first and only FDA Approved IPL treatment for dry eye! We’ll also walk you through a customized combination of remedies and lifestyle adjustments to improve your symptoms and give you lasting relief from your dry eyes.

Diabetic Eye Care

Diabetic eye disease is the term for a cluster of conditions caused by diabetes that affect your vision, and we prioritize early detection to keep you in control and informed. We use Optos technology and optical coherence tomography (OCT) to scan your eye and produce detailed images of your retina and macula. With these results, we can then tailor a plan for you to prevent severe damage to your eyesight.

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)

AMD is a condition that occurs with age that can limit your central vision, or ability to see things in front of you, if left unchecked. With no known cure, the most important way to protect your eyes from AMD damage is through our regular exams and customized strategies to manage it. With the help of Optos and OCT technology, we’ll identify AMD early and explain your scans, empowering you with guidance and reassurance every step of the way.

Glaucoma

Our caring experts only use non-invasive instruments engineered to diagnose signs of glaucoma early. With OCT to image your retina, and our iCare tonometer that measures your intraocular pressure (with no uncomfortable air puff test!), we can easily check your eyes for glaucoma risk factors. If we find any indications of this disease, we’ll help you stay ahead of it with an action plan we thoughtfully create for you to prevent harm to your vision.

My daughter and I had such a wonderful experience at our eye appointment. We were met with such friendly, caring faces!!! We saw Dr. Salter and her amazing staff. Felt so comfortable with our eye care and they are very passionate about their jobs! Jeana was hilariously honest with her opinion on picking our glasses. I LOVED her honesty. Everyone there was amazing and so friendly. They were also very upfront with the pricing/cost of services, which was a nice change. No surprises. Would definitely recommend this practice.

I have been coming to Lowcountry Eye Care for years. Based on the days that I make my appointment I don't always see the same doctor. That being said, I have always had a great experience, whether it was with Dr.Pitcavage,Dr.Shealey or Dr. McCormack. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Vitta. She made me feel right at home during my visit and was able to help and advise me with some of my allergy concerns.I would also like to thank Shanna for being so patient with helping me pick out the right frames. She was right about which frames to choose and I am happy with the choices that I made. Thanks to Morgan for explaining all about the floaters.I can't imaging going anywhere else for my eye care needs. SG

If you need an eye doctor, look no further! This place has it all: friendly staff, yep! Updated technology, yep! Large selection of frames for any budget, yep! Petting zoo, ye……!! okay…they don’t have a petting zoo. They are extremely thorough and make sure that you get the best solution for your peepers. I’ve seen lots of the doctors since I’ve been going there, most recently; Dr Vitta - and she was awesome!
