Cassandra “Cassie” Salter, O.D., is a passionate optometrist who prioritizes her patients’ comfort, vision clarity, eye health, and individualized care. She is skilled in managing dry eye disease, performing comprehensive eye exams, and providing a host of other important eye care services.
While she grew up in Pittsburgh, Dr. Salter has happily made the Lowcountry home with her husband Nick and their fluffy golden doodle, Oakley. When not providing personalized eye care, she loves reading on the beach, attending exercise classes, and trying out new recipes!
Awards & Accolades
Throughout her education and career, Dr. Salter has been high achieving, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh. She also graduated with honors and was elected president of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric International Honor Society at The Ohio State University College of Optometry.
Educational Background & Experience
Dr. Salter earned her Bachelor of Science at The University of Pittsburgh, majoring in psychology with a minor in chemistry. She also began working as a technician at Oakland Fashion Optical, where she was inspired to become an optometrist. She was accepted into The Ohio State University College of Optometry, where she was elected president of the Ocular Disease Club and vice president of the Student Council, before earning her Doctor of Optometry.
After college, she gained experience as an optometrist in Philadelphia, and now specializes in primary eye care, the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye, and is certified to fit MiSight® One Day contact lenses to manage myopia. Read MoreRead Less
