Educational Background & Experience
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Indiana University in Bloomington, Dr. Bolyard decided to attend the esteemed Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She was inspired to become an optometrist by her own childhood eye doctor and a college course on the sensory psychology of vision. She wanted to give back to the community the care she was given as a child having worn glasses since she was 3 years old. She personally understands the impact glasses and eye care can have on one’s life and its trajectory. Without being able to see well, the experience of learning and exploring the world around her would have been diminished. This is just one reason why Dr. Bolyard puts so much care and thoroughness into each and every eye exam for her patient’s overall wellness.
